Stop Blaming the wrong end of the Leash. END BSL

I'm so tired of seeing all these posts saying "dogs are not dangerous if raised right"
Right?....... WRONG!!!! 👎
GENETICS ARE THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE!
Its scientifically proven facts!
80-90% comes down to GENETICS.
So many people adopt and rescue dogs from indescribable abuse and neglect and they turn into an AMAZING DOG. Seen it many times! And I have been there and did that!

The opposite is the same, a dangerous dog can come from a loving home. Seen it many times!
And also, been there did that! 27 stitches in my leg later.
You CANNOT train a dog "to be mean" it has to have it in them to be mean first and foremost!
DOG aggression and human aggression is two separate genetic traits. They come in many forms.
Just because it would attack and kill another animal doesn't mean it would do the same to a human!
Dogs were bred for thousands of years for specific tasks. Its in them. You can't train out genetics. You can only lower the frequency a bit with a skilled professional dog trainers help.
Bull breeds are prone to dog/animal aggression! They are/were combat dogs!
Human aggression was a big "no-no"and still is. Experienced owners and handlers will be sure a dog like that (Human aggressive) is put down. Its a liability. Not breed it for extra money. That's the absolute worst thing anyone could do if they own pit bulls. Shame on those people! 😡😡😡
The American pit bull terrier is not and never was a guardian breed!
In fact they are the most stolen breed of dog in the world.
Hmm... How are they stolen so easy when they are supposedly vicious human killers??
Please, please, please get your facts straight before you start spreading misinformation!
The backyard breeders need to stop! Breeding should only be done by experienced knowledgeable people with dogs proven breeding quality.
This means genetic health testing, earning titles, doing sports, getting out there proving it is a exceptional specimen. Comes from sound heritage both health and temperament wise. It goes much farther back then just the parents and grandparents.
Sound structure also plays a role.
Its not based on how cute or good of pet it is, what color it is, how big or small it is or any personal opinion from anyone.
That isn't good enough.
This is most of the problem, people who have no morals or ethics breeding crap. Most of them have zero proof it's a purebred or the genetics behind them.
They just pump puppies out for money.
If the dog doesn't come with registration papers from a reputable kennel club proving that it is in fact the breed it is said to be, then you morally cannot call it a purebred anything. The only logical choice is to call it a mix. You cannot prove what it is.The phrase "Looks like" doesn't count.
Therefore the MEDIA should not even attempt labeling these dogs. All the time they are not even close to being right.
DNA testing is not even accurate. They do not have genetic markers of every breed of dog out there.
I can guarantee you almost every single dog on the media, articles, even dogs you have met who are labeled "pit bull" are in fact an unregistered mix breed of some type. Some wild guess.
Purebred American pit bull terriers are a lot more uncommon than people know, by a long shot. Especially in Canada.
There is maybe 6 pit bull breeders and they do not sell to the public. No males are open for public service. They are highly responsible and do not have accidental breedings. Accidental anything's.
So the next time you are looking to buy a dog keep this in mind. Study the job the dog was bred to do. And if you can't handle it, don't get it!
Do not support backyard breeders, unless you are well prepared to potentially pay thousands of dollars in vet bills and professional dog trainers.
I can say, a true American pit bull terrier is a marvelous, noble, affectionate, compassionate, smart, humorous, animal in all of its glorious splendor.
who loves his human more then anything in this world and would gladly put his life on the line for a human, stranger or not.
If you ever get the chance to See one, it's truly a sight to see. Dubbed king of dogs. America's dog.
Thank you to those who dedicated your life to create this breed and make it what it is.
There is nothing in the world more joyful then an American pit bull terriers affection.
Preserve the breed!
End rant.

The Boerboel as a farm dog

*THE BOERBOEL AS A FARM DOG*

The word "Boerboel" derives from "boer," the Afrikaans/Dutch word for "farmer." Boel is an old Dutch/Afrikaans slang word for dog. Boerboel, therefore, translates as either "farmer's dog" or "Boer's dog"

The protective character of the Boerboel is still evident and is much sought after, as is the calm, stable, and confident composure of the breed. The dogs are obedient and intelligent and have strong territorial instincts. The Boerboel remains the guarding breed of choice amongst current day farmers and is very popular for the same reason in urban communities.

Wonderful Insights on "A Pack Of Wolves"

A pack (wolves): The first 3 are the older or sick and
they set the pace of the group. If it was on the
contrary, they would be left behind and lost contact
with the pack. In ambush case they would be sacrificed.
The following are the 5 strongest. In the center follow
the remaining members of the pack, and at the end of
the group follow the other 5 stronger. Last, alone,
follows the alpha wolf. It controls everything from the
rear. That position can control the whole group, decide
the direction to follow and anticipate the attacks of
opponents. The pack follows the rhythm of the elders
and the head of the command that imposes the spirit of
mutual help not leaving anyone behind.

Classification Of Breeders by Mr Donald

CLASSIFICATION OF BREEDERS
By Donald O. Yewande
I heard a breeder of sort claim "you don't call yourself a
breeder until you have four generations in your house/
kennel". This led me into this research work. Take your
time to study this piece in order to know where you are
and what you need to become.
There is a lot of confusion about Breeders. In essence
anybody that has a litter of puppies whether mixed or
purebred is essentially a breeder, but that does not
mean such is a qualified or a responsible breeder.
The purpose of this article is to enlighten the breeding
public on the individual's present status, to take
adequate notice of what is missing, and set our minds
on improvements in order to someday be regarded as a
responsible breeder.
(1) ACCIDENTAL BREEDERS
This befalls a person who has an un-spayed female that
suddenly got pregnant. This can be by accident of the
person also has a male dog, or this unplanned
pregnancy could also be a compliment of a stray dog in
the neighbourhood. This puppies will necessarily not be
of same breed. Usually puppies from this litter will be
cheap or free, unregistered, most times unvaccinated or
dewormed, not necessarily raised in an ideal
environments. Usually mostly of these puppies are taken
away from their mother before 8 weeks.
(2) BACKYARD BREEDERS
Most accidental breeders graduates into backyard
breeders having enjoyed the financial profit of selling
puppies. With a little more knowledge, this group of
breeders decides not to breed mixed breed again but
rather buy purebred dogs. They buy a pure breed bitch if
they don't have any before and a pure breed male from
anywhere. They might get registered or unregistered dog
from different sources. They breed this pair together
over and over without any monitoring or consciousness
and repeating same faults and health issue throughout
many generations. Also this type of puppies are way
cheaper than that of professional breeders. They crash
the price at will and tend to frustrate professional
breeders. This categories of breeders are regarded as
"PUPPY FARMERS".
(3) EXPERIMENTAL BREEDERS.
These categories of breeders purchase pure breed dogs
of both sexes hoping to have litters out of them
someday. The dogs are carefully selected, but the
selection is based on the Phenotype and not the
Genotype. The inspiration here is necessarily not to
make money but, to sometimes to teach young children
the miracle of life, or to go through the experience of
raising a litter (let's face it, it is rather a memorable
experience) I remember the first litter we ever had and
its positive effects on my little children. They woke up
each morning to cuddle this little puppies and sleeps
with them all night. They wept at the exit of each puppy
to their new homes (what a brilliant experience). I still
have some of those pictures with tears in their eyes
while cuddling their fur babies.
At least with this group of breeder, you can be fairly
certain that a lot of love and care went into the
planning and raising of said litter. Depending from
where the parent is purchased, some background
information might also be available, but probably from
only one generation back.
(4)PROFESSIONAL/ REPUTABLE BREEDER
This group of breeders came into existence MOSTLY
from 'experimental starts' and then got a love for doing
it. Sometimes these are second generation breeders
learning from their parents or close friends.
By professional I don't mean a living is made out of the
trade rather, it is a fine art with knowledge of YEARS of
experience thus making such 'professional' in the art of
genetics, constantly producing sound dogs, and good
people skills with a very high reputation. These are
people with a deep love for breeding. They won't sell
their bitch over pseudopregnancy or whenever they are
financially broke.
Also each of the dogs in heir home/kennel was
painstakingly picked from OWN BRED LITTERS, BOUGHT
IN FROM OTHER REPUTABLE breeder or IMPORTED
from specific bloodlines. The pedigrees would have
been scrutinized, health issues properly researched and
also the genetics. Each dog is very well known, not only
in body and mind but also heritage and temperament.
Mostly line-breeding and inbreeding, even back breeding
are done to set the lines well (And if they don't
understand these terms they are not professionals)
With these few researches of mine which is subject to
reproof and further research, each breeder must identify
where they are right now and seek adequate mentoring
from those ahead of them with humility while those
with deep knowledge of he trade should be
magnanimous enough to uplift those at the lower level
because the nonprofessional breeders can make the
market bad with unrealistic price slashes and
misinforming puppy buyers.
